no, this is not another article reminding you that you’ve aged as another year has arrived.
i don’t quite understand the point of celebrating new year’s eve. not that i’ve anything against rejoicing santa claus’ joblessness for another 360 days, but what’s there to be happy about? in fact, there’s a good reason why i become increasingly worried as new years eve approaches, because first january forces you to make decisions that impact the rest of your year. let me illustrate with...
resolutions. here’s a good ol’ tradition. except that traditionally, it only matters for a few hours. it’s like hanging a ’caution wet paint’ sign: there’s an element of fun in breaking the rules. and before you know it, these promises begin to mirror one’s memories of new year parties i.e. they become increasingly hazy & unclear. but i’ve made up my mind to buy up some tyres and befriend vijay mallya this year because of...
calendars. this one’s a biggie. you want to make sure you can tolerate the scenery for a year, and that it magically arrives at your doorstep for free! getting one out of the two is not that hard actually, but discovering good taste in freebies is easier that mining unobtainium. fortunately for humankind, pirelli and kingfisher still believe that the best things in life are free and distribute their time tables gratis to the exclusive list of contacts in their...
diaries. in an age where contacts reside in nokias, hotmail and facebook, what’s this piece of paper worth? at this point, you must be waiting for some witty comment on how diaries saved anil kapoor from mogambo, but you’d be wrong. i completely agree that they’re rubbish. diaries are so yesterday: everyone’s on blogger and twitter now.

as far as freebies considered, i luk for pure "free"ness, as in download d calendar for free dumba$$, from the net. :P
as far as diaries are considered, they are as out of fashion as good old paperback books, for ex- even i have one. so U go figure...

Well I used to write a diary ... or should I say diaries ...? It's fun to read what you had written ages back ... sometimes laughable. But these days, who would be stupid enough to write treasured secrets on unencrypted pieces of paper??!? :-P
ReplyDelete@ audy: i actually hadn't read that post of yours but it's an awesome read after writing this article. i agree - greatest marketing rip-off ever, after santa claus and bogeyman.
ReplyDelete@ vid: exactly. so make 'em public and get famous doing it too!
